Watching his grandmother, Bella Savin, inspired Roger to become what he is today. Bella, a Romanian-born designer, created beautiful, glamorous pieces for the upper class of Romanian before WWII and the rise of Communism. She, soon after, joined forces with her brother to mass produce her creations making Savin a popular name in Romania in the late 1930's - early 1940's. After the arrival of communism, she went back to making piece goods by order of the government for high political official's wives.

This Romanian gene of style has hit Roger as well. His line of clothes is chic, stylish. As a young boy, he watched and learned from his grandmother as she sketched eccentric designs... put them to pattern... then to a final garment.

Although Roger studied Business Administration at USC, his artistic side never rested. He worked as an Assistant... then Senior Editor for a business publication for many years with the inner desire to eventually work in the fashion industry. He decided to start courses in clothing design at a fashion college while he was still working on the publication. Eventually, he build up a regular clientele of prominent ladies needing that original, customized design for their special occasions. Inspired by one of his best private clients, Roger decided to work on his first collection.... realizing his dream as a designer and opening the door to a bright future! His first few boutiques were skeptical in taking on new designers, but they were glad they did. His debut Fall 2001 collection not only sold well, but prompted reorders! A sure sign of approval for any designer!

Roger continues to design special pieces for the mass market and with Marianne, his mother, as his design partner, they are surely getting a wink of approval from Bella up in heaven.
